John Dunaway may be the most interesting man in Texas. At his full-time job, he guides cargo ships through the Houston ship channel as part of the prestigious Houston Pilots group. At his other full-time job, which he wouldn’t call a job, he shoots amazing photographs for some of the most iconic outdoor brands. John is also an avid conservationist and does a lot of amazing work with Texas Parks & Wildlife and other conservation organizations. 

When he’s not navigating massive ships through treacherous waters or setting his aperture for the next amazing capture, he’s spending time with his family in Seabrook, TX, often cooking on his Millscale smoker. He keeps that grill in use with loads of wild game that he harvests, most notably waterfowl that his dog, Nixon, picks up in effortless style.
